Our Approach

Warehouse security that starts with a walk of your site

A warehouse is not an office building with more square footage. Trailers sit loaded in the yard overnight, dock doors open and close all shift, drivers and temporary workers come and go, and the most valuable inventory in the building can change from one week to the next. Security has to keep up with all of that without slowing the operation down.

SecureOne starts every warehouse account the same way. A manager walks the property with you, looks at the gates, the dock, the yard, the fence line and the way people actually move through the building, and then writes post orders that fit your site. Some facilities need an officer at the gate around the clock. Others are better served by a mix of a day-shift officer, overnight patrols and cameras on the yard. We have been building programs like that since 2002, and our industrial security services already cover warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing plants and intermodal transportation hubs.

The Risk

Why warehouse security matters right now

Cargo theft has become more targeted and more expensive. Verisk CargoNet reported that estimated cargo theft losses in the United States and Canada reached nearly $725 million in 2025, up 60 percent from 2024, with an average value per theft of $273,990. The trend continued into 2026: CargoNet recorded estimated losses of $304.6 million in the second quarter of 2026 alone, more than double the same quarter a year earlier, even though the number of incidents fell.

Facilities are part of that picture. TT Club and BSI report that thefts from facilities and warehouses account for roughly a quarter of recorded cargo theft incidents worldwide, and their 2025 report found that 22 percent of global cargo theft incidents involved the cooperation of insiders. That is why a good warehouse program pays as much attention to procedures at the gate and the dock as it does to the fence and the cameras. Our warehouse security guide walks through the most common risks and how to address them.

Why SecureOne

What sets SecureOne apart

One contact, day or night

Every client has a single point of contact available 24/7. If a trailer goes missing at 2 a.m. or a dock door alarm will not reset, you call one person who knows your site. The Customers Matter program keeps our managers measured on how well each client is served.

You see what the officer sees

Shift reports, photos and patrol scans go into Vision InSites, our real-time reporting platform, as they happen. Patrol vehicles carry GPS Insight tracking and 360-degree in-car cameras, and WinTeam keeps scheduling and billing consistent when you have several buildings.

Officers trained for your site, not just the job

Many SecureOne officers have military, police or security backgrounds, and every officer is First Aid and CPR certified. Our in-house Director of Training builds site-specific instruction for each account, and you can read more about our security guard training program on secureone.com. Officers wear SecureOne's standard uniform of tan shirt, black hat, black pants and black shoes, so drivers and employees can spot them on a busy dock.

Patrols that leave a record

For buildings that do not need a full-time post, our mobile patrol services put a uniformed officer and patrol vehicle on your property on a scheduled or random basis, and patrol units can respond to alarms and suspicious activity.

Results clients talk about

About 76 percent of SecureOne's new clients come from referrals by existing clients. One warehouse manager put it simply:

"I went through several companies over the years on my property. Glad I found SecureOne. It's not that they are perfect but take care of any issue immediately. That's all I ask for."Warehouse Manager, Tinley Park, IL
